Ongoing Opportunities

The following are regular, ongoing opportunities to get involved beyond coming  Sunday mornings. Be sure to check back regularly as new opportunities spring up and others fade away.  Contact us with any questions.

Join a Ministry Group! - Ministry groups are the heart and soul of what we do at The Water's Edge.  If you want to get connected, get involved, and grow in your faith, then you need to join a ministry group today.   Ministry groups are small groups that meet every other week, on various nights, in people's homes.  We're always adding people to the groups, so if you're interested or have questions, let us know!

Prayer - The engine of the church!  We have multiple opportunities for gatherings.  Come do the most effective work you can do for God's kingdom!

  • The most convenient one is the Sunday morning prayer service from 8:30 - 9:30.  We divide into groups for adults, youth and 4-9 year olds.  Nursery is provided as well.
  • Men's prayer is at 6:00 a.m. Tuesday at Mike Ehlenbach's, located a block from church at 330 N. Arlington Ave., on the corner of Arlington and Central Entrance in the big white Pennel Park apartments.  Park in the upper parking lot by the church and ring in to Apr. #209.  For more info, contact Mike at 390-8644.
  • Women have a session at 5:30 a.m. Thursdays in Sharon Krause's home on Arnold Rd.  For more info, contact her at 340-5537.

Men's Morning Bible Study - Pastor Erik is meeting with men interested in walking seriously with the Lord every Tuesday morning from 7 to 8 a.m. following men's prayer.  We meet at Mike's.  Hope you'll join us.

Men's Evening Bible Study -  Tuesdays 5:30 pm at Mike Ehlanbach's.  The time is not set in stone, so if you want to join in on a different time or day, let the leader, Jon Chappell, know (330-442-3363).  The guys are doing a study based on the movie Courageous.

DIVE TEAM!!! - Come join the TWE Dive Team every other Wednesday night from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at church.   Dive Team is for youth in 5th grade and up.  Come check it out, and bring a friend!

Each One Teach One - At TWE we believe that one on one is the best way to disciple (mentor or teach) people.   If you are interested in discipling someone, being discipled, or both, let us know!

Serve on Sundays -  We have many options for helping out on Sundays, whether you're comfortable in front of people or prefer to serve in the background.  Contact Sharon (sharon@thewatersedge.net) if you're interested in serving in one of the following areas:  Child Care (nursery I & II, 4 - 8 yrs class, 2nd - 5th grade class); Ushers; Greeters; Worship Team; lunch duty; Sound or Imagery (training available); Prayer Team; or read Scripture verses before the sermon.  Also, because we rent from Lakeview Christian Academy, we need to set up and tear down the chapel and classrooms every week.  Every helping hand makes the work go much quicker!  And it's a great time of fellowship.  If you want to get to know people, stick around and help haul bins and move chairs!
