Prayer

“Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth.” James 5:17

This verse from James’ letter to the early church encapsulates the mission of TWE’s prayer ministry. The great men and women of the Bible had struggles just like we do. They shared our faults, our weaknesses, and our inclinations to sin. Despite our sins, God is pleased to work through the prayers of His children here on earth. Through Christ, we have access to the throne room of God. (Hebrews 4:16) Our prayers even rise like incense before God’s throne! (Revelation 8:4)

In the Gospel according to John, we have these words from Jesus: “Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.” (16:24)

With this promise in mind, let us pray!
