30 Hours of Prayer will start Saturday, September 11th at 3:30 a.m. and run continuously through the prayer hour on Sunday morning, Sept. 12th. This is an opportunity you won't want to miss! The chapel will be open for prayer throughout, and our goal is to have at least three people praying together at all times. If you can commit to a three hour block of time let us know, otherwise, come whenever you can. Let's start the new church and school year out right, with prayer!
New Preaching Series - Everyone has questions about Christianity: How do we know God exists? If God is good how can He allow evil? How can Jesus be the only way to Heaven? and the list goes on. Beginning September 12th, Pastor Erik will do his best to answer some of these questions as we begin a new preaching series called The BIG QUESTIONS about Christianity. During this series, Pastor Erik will also lead monthly discussions where further questions can be asked and discussed. The first of these will be Saturday, October 2nd from 10 to 12 p.m. If you or someone you know have questions, we hope you'll join us!
Women's Bible Study - Do you want to fall in love with Jesus? Then this study is for you! Jessica Reinertsen will be leading a life transforming study called Jesus the One and Only that will meet every other Wednesday night beginning September 15th. We will meet at church from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. during the youth DIVE TEAM meeting. If you are interested or have any questions, let us know. Hope you can make it!
Outreach Ideas for Kids - Pastor Erik will be quickly sharing some outreach ideas for kids at 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday, September 15th immediately following DIVE TEAM and the Women's Bible Study. Children and parents are encouraged to come!
Every Man's Battle for Purity - Sexual lust is battle all men face. Through Jesus there is much hope and much help. Come join other men from around our area on Saturday, September 25th from 8 to 12 p.m. as they come together to learn more. The battle will take place at Anchor Point Community Church. The cost is $39 (preregister) or $45 (at the door). Scholarships of up to $25 are also available. If you struggle, or want to help someone who does, you won't want to miss this. Father Son Football Camp - Zach Stano will be hosting a one day camp from 1 to 5:30 p.m. at the Park Point field for father's and sons 11 years old and up. The camp will include a devotional, warm-up, drills, a flag football game, and dinner to follow. RSVP with Zach at 218-341-5308!
Women's Book Club will be meeting for the very first time on September 27th at 7:00 p.m. at Lyn Norman's. We are planning on reading one book a month and meeting the fourth Monday of the month for discussion. The book for Sept. 27th will be The Reason for God by Timothy Keller. Start reading now! BIG QUESTIONS Discussion - Bring your questions and come for some further discussion of The BIG QUESTIONS about Christianity on Saturday, October 2nd from 10 to 12 p.m. We are planning to hold two more discussions November 6 and December 4. Hope you can make it!
Women's Fall Retreat - We are planning a refreshing 24 hour get away for all the women of the church October 8 and 9! We will be going to Covenant Park Bible Camp, which is just 40 minutes away. Any women interested in helping plan this special event, please call Lyn Norman (728-4713). More details will follow.
Each One Teach One - At TWE we believe that one on one is the best way to disciple (mentor or teach) people. If you are interested in discipling someone, being discipled, or both, let us know by October 10th. Once we know who is interested, we will seek to pair people up accordingly.
Business Meeting - Our next quarterly business meeting will be at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 10th. We need all members to be there along with anyone else who is interested in the business of the church.
New Comer's Dessert - If you would like to meet some new people, find out more about The Water's Edge, and get your questions answered join us for pie and ice cream Sunday, October 17th at 7:00 p.m. Please RSVP by October 10 and let us know if you need childcare.
Join a Ministry Group this Fall! - Ministry groups are the heart and soul of what we do at The Water's Edge. If you want to get connected, get involved, and grow in your faith, then you need to join a ministry group today. Ministry groups are small groups that meet every other week, on various nights, in people's homes. If you're interested or have questions, let Pastor Erik know today!
Men's Bible Study - The men are studying the book of James every other Sunday night from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at church (see calendar for exact dates). This study is open to all
men interested in studying and discussing God's Word, even those who
are not yet in the faith. Talk to Erik LoFald or Matt Scott with questions. Hope you can make it!
